End of an Era
On July 15, 2011 a big part of my life is going to stop.
The last Harry Potter movie is coming out. I’ve spent about 10 years of my life very much obsessed with those movies. Even more so because they were bringing to life my favorite books. I was lucky enough to be born on November 18, which meant that quite a bit of the movies came out when I was expecting gifts.
My sister could always be counted on to buy me tickets. I don’t think I went to any of the movies without her. (Incidentally, she also bought me every movie as soon as they came out except for two!) I feel like I owe the movies sooooo much. They brought my sister and I closer and they were always so very close to my imagination:) They were more than I could ask for.
I loved the movies just as much ad I love the books. I wish, with all my heart, that I could go back in time and see every single one of the London premieres and see all the stars grow up. I’ve missed that chance. Like so many other fans, that just wasn’t possible for me. I’m happy for anyone who met them and I hope they always cherish these memories for the fans that didn’t have a chance to go:)
This will be the end of an era and while I cry for Fred, Tonks, Lupin, Colin, and Snape, I will also cry for the end of my childhood and the end of the wonderful experiences I managed to have while watching these wonderful movies and reading these wonderful books.
All I have left is Pottermore. I’m ecstatic that J.K. Rowling is doing this and I love that she’s doing this for free:) It’s the best parting gift and I’ll love her even more for this:)
